Austria

Oct. & Nov.  Ad campaign in T.I.P. - trade travel magazine - for travel agents will be continued as part of the Destination Training for Jordan.

13th – 17th Nov.  JTB will host a group of high quality press from Austria on a classical tour of Jordan.

Benelux Region

27th Oct. - 1st Nov. A Religious/cultural press trip will be visiting Jordan representing various Dutch and Belgian Newspapers and magazines.

13th Nov.  JTB Benelux will be attending the press workshop that is organized every year by ANTOR, the Association for National Tourist Boards in the Netherlands. More than 50 press/media people are expected to attend. 

Oct. & Nov. JTB will be co-marketing with several TOs in various media.

France

7th – 9th Oct.    Attend the consumer fair in Paris Envie de Partir – Le Figaro to position and introduce Jordan as a high quality destination to high end consumer. There will be a partnership with French TOs and their offers will be distributed at this fair.

Oct., Nov., & Dec.    A widespread consumer campaign will be held with the theme (Les 7 merveilles de Jordanie) "7 Wonders of Jordan" which are: Petra, Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Aqaba, Bethany and Mount Nebo. The promotion campaign objectives are to enhance Jordan's image and to show its diversity. This advertising campaign would propose a creative direction based on the 7 Wonders of Jordan and would inform the consumers with a special promotion website:
www.les7merveillesdejordanie.com

This consumer advertising campaign would use two different types of media:

Specialized Media (niche market)

  • Nature / adventure:
    Trek Magazine, Ulysse, Terre Sauvage, Ushuaia Magazine.
  • Scuba Diving:
    Plongeurs International, Octopus, SubAqua (National Federation Magazine)
  • SPA / Wellness Beauty:

Germany

1st-8th Oct.  A top diving magazine in Germany, Tauchen (meaning “to Dive”), will visit Jordan on a press trip. The magazine has a circulation of 47,235 and a readership of 400,000.

24th – 31st Oct. A high quality adventure travel consumer press group from 5 major publications will be visiting Jordan including Bild der Frau with a circulation of 1.07 million and a readership of 5.74 million, Maerkische Oderzeitung with a circulation of 120,000 and readership of 300,000, Muncher Merkur and TZ Munchen with a combined circulation of 438,000 and readership of 1 million, Augsburger Allgemeine with a circulation of 350,000 and readership of 908,000, and Solitaire magazine.

8th Oct.  Jordan will be featured on Bayrischer Rundfunk TV with general coverage.

9th Nov. Consumer Information Events will take place in Berlin

15th Nov.  Jordan will be featured on N-TV the most popular German speaking TV station with a general feature also focusing on wellness.

Nov. Jordan will have a mini display promotion with the Atlas Reisen Travel Agent Chain

Nov., Dec. & Jan.  A consumer ad campaign will be carried out in regional and national papers where some of it will be co-op. There will also be a Jordan promotion in Hertz consumer magazine.

Italy

20th – 22nd Oct.  JTB will participate in TTG Incontri of Rimini with 3 Jordanian tour operators. This is purely a trade show where it is expected Jordan will continue to create interest.

28th Oct. – 2nd Nov.  JTB will organize a MICE FAM trip including 13 Italian incentive houses to Jordan. This trip will include a workshop with the Jordanian trade.

Sept. – Nov.   The "Imagine" campaign will run on the main web travel portal www.lastminute.it in collaboration with five tour operators specialized in Jordan packages: Best Tours, Cosertour, Mistral Tour, NBTS and Tucano Viaggi.

Oct. – Nov.  The fall advertising campaign will run in major consumer and trade prints as well as radio.

Oct. – Nov.  The JTB office in Italy will be organizing special co-marketing activities for Jordan with the Italian trade.

North America

2nd Oct. – 6th Oct.       Jordan Road Show to be held for the second time in several Canadian cities in a two tiered "Jordan-Canada Road Show" program that will educate eager travel executives as well as the travel media on the mysticism and magnificence of Jordan as a travel destination. Accompanying the JTBNA delegation will be Canadian Tour Operators.

16th Oct. – 29th Oct.    Canadian Film Crew FAM trip to produce a series of 4 episodes about Jordan targeting the young generation.

17th Oct. – 29th Oct.    TO Educational FAM Trip for potential new tour operators and existing operators to increase their current Jordan programmes.

3rd Nov. – 12th Nov.   Religious press trip for 15 religious reporters to generate press coverage of Jordan's holy sites, status as an interfaith role model, and more.

18th Nov. - 21st Nov.  Attend the American Academy of Religion Convention – a religious convention for group leaders as well as co-sponsoring a panel discussion, reception, or lecture on key issues for this influential group of academics.

4th Dec. – 7th Dec. Attend the Luxury Show in Las Vegas in partnership with Jordanian trade.

Russia

Oct. & Nov.  JTB has renewed it plasma screen advertising and this will run through October and November. The plasma screens are spread in three different locations in Moscow.

 Oct.  Co-op advertising with Russian tour operators in Tourism and Otdykh.

4th – 7th Oct.  JTB office in Russia partnering with TYCHE / Royal Jordanian will participate in the CIS Travel Mart, a major travel trade exhibition for Northern regions of Russia. The exhibition will take place in St. Petersburg. 

11th – 16th Oct.   The JTB Moscow office will participate in a Road Show in partnership with RATA EXPO to oil and gas cities in Russia. In this Road Show the JTB will be joined by about 50 Moscow Tour Operators presenting in several workshops to a total of 450 regional tour operators in the cities of Samara, Kazan and Cheboksary in the central region of the Russian Federation.  Jordan will be represented by several companies that will offer the regional counterparts winter packages for Jordan.

13th – 20th Oct.  JTB will host a FAM trip for 10 Russian MICE tour operators in Jordan.

24th Oct.  JTB Moscow office will participate in the SPA EXPO. A themed presentation on SPA and Wellness opportunities in Jordan will be made for workshop attendees in a separate conference room of the Le Meridien National Hotel. JTB Moscow will share the stand with Janna SPA hotel and will present Dead Sea resorts, hotels, and spa and wellness programs in Jordan to the participants of the workshop. 350 companies are expected to attend this workshop from Moscow and the Central Region.

10th – 17th Nov.  10 Russian journalists from Moscow and St.Petersburg will be arriving in Jordan covering major Russian publications such as: Domovoy, Harpers Bazaar, Men’s health, Elle, and Top Sante.

1st Nov. - 27th Dec.  JTB in partnership with Citibank and EastLine will organize the PETRA EXHIBITION which is a Photo exhibition held for the public on Petra and other major attractions in Jordan comprised of a collection of the best images from three famous Russian photographers.

Scandinavia

24th Oct.  A full day information seminar and workshop in cooperation with ANTOR will be held for the travel trade in Scandinavia for about 200 travel agents and about 50 – 70 Swedish travel journalists.

Oct.   An information evening will be held for around 15-25 journalists who are members of the Finnish Travel Journalists Guild.

Oct.   JTB will host a journalist and photographer from Drömresan / ICA Kuriren, as well as TOs, religious and cultural opinion leaders on a FAM trip to Jordan.

Oct.  JTB Scandinavia office will participate in 4 consumer travel fairs Skånemässan, Senior Fair/STO, Quality Travel Show, Senior Fair/GOT with Temaresor and will highlight Jordan by showing the promo DVD in the stand. These fairs are attended by general public and senior citizens with a total estimated number of visitors ranging between 60,000 to 70,000 in Sweden.

Oct.  A co-marketing advertising campaign in Vår Bostad Magazine.

Oct. & Nov.  A co-marketing consumer advertising campaign will be held in the daily newspapers Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet.
  
Nov.  A seminar / workshop for approximately 16 people will be held in cooperation with Temaresor for their own travel agency managers of TUI in Sweden.

Nov. A high quality press trip will visit Jordan from the following publications:  TT/Spektra (Nordic), PM, Bulletin.se,  ErhvervsBladet (DK), Resenären (SE), Internet Media AS (NO), and Ekstra Bladet FERIE (DK).

Nov.  A trade press trip including a journalist and a photographer from the RES Magazine will be arriving in Jordan for a classical tour.

Nov.  A seminar / workshop will be held for staff at American Express MICE departments in Scandinavia

Nov. In cooperation with Temaresor an event will be held for their VIP customers at Medelhavsmuseet Stockholm

Spain

Oct.  The JTB will start a direct mailing campaign to the trade.

6th Oct .  The JTB office in Spain will start a tele-sales campaign directed at the trade.

Oct. – Dec.   The JTB office will vitalize all media contacts to cover Jordan.

Oct. JTB Spain will attend 3 consumer travel fairs in Galicia (a spa and wellness fair), Asturias (a sport travel fair), and Ourense (a general travel fair).

Oct.  JTB Spain will carry out a consumer advertising campaign in METRO NEWS concentrating on Catalonia, Madrid and Northern Spain.

28th – 30th Nov.  The Office will attend the EIBTM fair with the JTB head office with six members from the Jordanian trade.

Oct. & Nov.   JTB Spain will host 2 media lunches to engage support for promotional efforts in Spain.

Switzerland

Oct.  Workshops will be held in conjunction with Tour Orient (the largest Arabic – specialist tour operator in the French speaking part of Switzerland) to train travel agents. The workshop will be held in Lausanne, Fribourg, Sion, and Yverdon, all French-speaking parts of Switzerland

Oct. JTB Switzerland will be running a co-op advertising campaign in 3 popular dailies, Sonntags-Zeitung, NZZ, and Sonntag.

20th – 24th Nov.   JTB will participate in bookshop presentations by Matthew Teller, author of Rough Guide Jordan and the program will be as follows: 20th Bern, 21st Schaffhausen, 22nd Basel, 23rd Zurich, 24th Geneva

Ukraine

Sept. & Nov. An outdoor consumer campaign on billboards spread out through Kiev focusing on spa and wellness.

Oct.  A co-marketing Radio campaign will take place with LIK, Sputnik and Avant.

11th – 14th Oct .  JTB representative will attend the October Travel Fair in Kiev to present a special seminar on Jordan. Also, to oversee distribution of Jordan brochures to interested tour operators.

Early Nov. JTB will host a press trip for a private TV ‘OKI Group’ which is responsible for the publication of the ‘SPA program’

United Kingdom

20th – 25thOct.     A range of selected media outlets have been invited including, national, trade and key regional newspapers on a press trip of 15 top notch reporters to Jordan. The publications include: The Mirror, Daily Mail, Sunday Mirror, as well as other regional papers. The total circulation of 15 publications is 6,200,419 and the itinerary is based on the cultural tour visiting all the main sites in Jordan.

6th - 9th Nov. JTB will be participating in the World Travel Market in London along with members of the Jordanian trade.

15th-21st Nov. A Health and Wellbeing press trip is in the final stages of planning.

21st-  23rd Nov. A travel agent road show will be taking place in Chester, Cheltenham and Crawley. Each road show will be attended by 70 agents for a complete Jordan training session. JTB UK has partnered with 10 UK tour operators, Jordanian hotels and Royal Jordanian.

Oct., Nov. & Dec. A comprehensive ad campaign will be held covering  key national newspapers amongst them The Guardian, The Times, Daily Telegraph and Independent, as well as specialist travel magazines including ABTA Magazine, Selling Long Haul, and Travel Weekly, along with internet travel sites and third party sites.
The online campaign includes Google ad words and banner ads on the Times, Telegraph and Guardian travel websites.
